Shiela Kazuyo (Kaneshiro) Echevary, 77, of Honolulu, formerly of Honokaa, died April 23 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. She was born in Honokaa. Survived by children, Sharlene (Nolan) Tamashiro, Sheryl (Mark Fukeda) Kochi and Anson (Michelle) Echevary; significant other, Albert Rambaoa; his children, Aileen (Mike) Rambaoa, Laura (Gordon) Bright and Cheryl (Tyron) Kitashima; siblings, Katherine Kiyabu, Leora Haitsuka and Timothy (Mary- Ellen) Kaneshiro; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Keichi Ikeda, 98, of Kailua-Kona died June 10 at home. Born in Pahoa, he was a registered professional mechanical engineer with FMC Corp. and ESD in San Jose, Calif., graduate of Hilo High School, University of Hawaii-Manoa and University of Washington, avid bowler with the Kona Seniors Monday and Thursday bowling leagues, and member of Kona Hiroshima Kenjin Kai and Kona Japanese Civic Association. Edward Ramones Madamba, 88, of Hilo died June 21 at home. Born in Makaweli, Kauai, he was an employee for Aerojet Rocketdyne and nuclear utility SMUD, in California, opened Penny’s Kaukau lunch shop in Papaikou, assisted at Hale Kai Bed at Honolii Point, was a U.S. Army veteran and was vice chair for the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program Advisory Council, announced and coached kupuna softball, taught hanafuda at the Kamana Senior Center and was honored for his volunteer work in 2014 with the Outstanding Older American Award representing the Island of Hawaii.
