The Kamehameha Schools - Hawai‘i girls water polo team won its third straight BIIF title, defeating Hawaii Preparatory Academy 7-5 in the final round of the Central Pacific Bank/BIIF playoffs on Saturday in Puna.

The Warriors took the lead early as Olili‘u Wise scored a goal in the first period. Ka Makani’s Mya Pinkert and Martina Guerra Bovea scored goals to put HPA on the board in the second period, but Caylee Cook and Uakea Moleni combined for another two goals to keep KSH ahead by one.
Leahi Coloma bolstered KSH’s lead by scoring two goals in the third period while the Warriors’ defense shut Ka Makani out.
HPA’s Maile Imonen rallied for a hat trick in the fourth period, but Wise and Taylor Furstenwert combined for another two, keeping KSH ahead.
The Warriors ended the season and 12-2, while HPA dropped to 10-3. Both teams will appear in the HHSAA state championship, which is slated for May 6-11 at KS-Kapalama.
HPA will start off in the first round, and may get to host its matchup. KSH will receive a bye and enter in the quarterfinals on May 9.
