Born in San Francisco, she was a retired teacher, author of poetry and short stories, owner-operator of Karaden Farm and Aloha Ocean Hideaway, co-founder of Kona Crisis Center, member of Greenpeace, the Sierra Club, Audubon Society and National Wildlife Foundation.
