Ronald Francis “Sam” Addington Sr., 78, of Keaau died May 24 at the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired construction worker, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps., and member of the Wailoa River Rats. Friends may call from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the Dodo Mortuary chapel. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Graveside services at noon at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire. James Richard Browne, 82, Waikoloa died May 31 at home. Born in South Gate, Calif., he was a firefighter for the City of Santa Barbara, Calif., a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, a member of the Kona Elks Club, Marine Corps League and the Korean War Veterans Association and escorted groups on tours of Camp Tarawa’s locations significant during World War II, and for his efforts to establish a museum commemorating Camp Tarawa.
