HONOLULU (AP) — A small plane went down in a field near the H-2 freeway, and the two people aboard were uninjured.
Wahiawa police were told about 7 p.m. Tuesday of a possible downed plane in a pineapple field north of Ka Uka Boulevard.
The 54-year-old student pilot, Bruce Hamilton, let instructor Michael Richards of Moore Air take control of the Cessna 172P when he experienced engine trouble.
Hamilton said they finished training and were heading back to Honolulu when the engine started sputtering at 2,000 feet.
