Marian Mae Johnson, 88, of Hawi died Jan. 9 in Keaau. Born in Hilo, she was a retired Kohala Elementary School teacher, avid tennis player and member of Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation 2-3 p.m. Thursday, Mar. 27, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 3 p.m. Graveside urn committal service 10 a.m. Friday, Mar. 28, for her and her husband, John Franklin Johnson, at Homelani Memorial Park. Survived by siblings, Urban Carvalho of Denver, Lionel (Laurine) Carvalho of Volcano, Glenn Carvalho of Pepeekeo and Patricia Thornberg of Junction City, Kan.; nieces, nephews and cousins.
