Gov. Josh Green has nominated Scott K.D. Shishido to become a circuit court judge on the Big Island, filling a vacancy left by the retirement of Kona Circuit Judge Robert D.S. Kim in July 2024.
Gov. Josh Green has nominated Scott K.D. Shishido to become a circuit court judge on the Big Island, filling a vacancy left by the retirement of Kona Circuit Judge Robert D.S. Kim in July 2024.
Shishido, 43, is currently the Hawaii Island managing attorney for the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii.
Shishido is a 2010 graduate, magna cum laude, of the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii at Manoa who received his bachelor’s degree in communication from Stanford University.
His nomination has been received by the state Senate, which has forwarded it to the Judiciary Committee. The full Senate must confirm his nomination before he can take the bench for a 10-year term.
