Nine fire units responded Thursday night to a Puna carport fire.
According to a written Fire Department statement, the alarm was at 5:41 p.m. with the first unit arriving on scene at 13-3519 Forest Dr. in Nanawale Estates 14 minutes later.
Arriving units found the fire confined to the carport of the single-story, three-bedroom home. It was extinguished at 6:10 p.m.
Damage to the property owned and occupied by Robert Aranas was estimated at $50,000 with about $110,000 in property value saved.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
The Red Cross also responded to help Aranas with emergency needs, the agency said in a release.
