Hawaiian Telcom said in a statement Friday fewer than 100 Big Island customers are now without service, more than half in Nanawale Estates.
In others areas of Puna, some customers may experience a temporary loss of service of about two hours as Hawaiian Telcom crews replace equipment and then re-connect customers over the next two weeks. These temporary disruptions do not need to be reported unless the outage continues past 6 p.m. Should this occur, customers should contact Hawaiian Telcom’s 24-Hour Service Center at 643-6111.
Hawaiian Telcom continues to provide free Wi-Fi service at the Hawaiian Paradise Park Activity Center and the Pahoa Community Center 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily. To take advantage of the free Wi-Fi, consumers should bring their own wireless devices, laptop computers, tablets and smartphones.
