According to the county Department of Public Works, striping of on-street parking stalls on Ponahawai Street in downtown Hilo will take place from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday.
On-street parking will be suspended for part of the day until the stalls are marked. Parking will then resume.
The contractor will start from Kamehameha Avenue intersection and work uphill.
