Step back in time and experience movies the way they used to be with the screening of “Teddy at the Throttle” with live accompaniment by Tommy Stark on the Palace Theater organ.
This 1917 silent film stars Gloria Swanson and Wallace Beery and is good, old-fashioned slapstick comedy.
Following this escape to the past, stay for the 1942 black-and-white classic “Casablanca,” starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman.
“The audience should have a great time, laughing with the characters in ‘Teddy’ and maybe crying with the drama of star-crossed lovers in ‘Casablanca,’” said Morgen Bahurinsky, Palace director of operations.
Tickets benefit for the Palace and the Hilo Theater Organ Society benefit are $10 in advance and $15 the day of the show. Palace box office hours are 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Call 934-7010 for credit card orders.
