Emily Hartong swatted 12 kills and Kalei Adolpho added nine Saturday night for the No. 8 University of Hawaii women’s volleyball team in a sweep of Long Beach State, 25-17, 25-16, 25-19 at Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.
Jade Vorster equaled a career high with eight blocks as the Rainbow Wahine (12-2, 5-0 Big West Conference) limited the 49ers (2-1, 7-8) to .142 hitting.
UH, meanwhile, hit .370. Vorster made only one error while contributing six kills and Jane Croson posted eight. Ali Longo registered a team-high 10 digs and Mita Uiato added five blocks with a match-high 36 assists.
Hawaii was the model of efficiency in the second set, with 15 kills and just one error for a .656 hitting percentage.
The Wahine head to California this week for league matches with Cal Poly on Friday and Cal Santa Barbara on Saturday.
