Arsenia Oasay Nicolas, 77, of Keaau, died July 21 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in the Philippines, she was a retired macadamia nut picker and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo. Friends may call Wednesday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Visitation from 5-9 p.m.; Wake service at 7 p.m. Friends may call Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation from 8-10 a.m. Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Burial at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section). Survived by husband, Domingo Nicolas of Keaau; sons, Robert (Prima) Nicolas, Lindbergh (Judith) Nicolas and Ricardo (Glenda) Nicolas of Keaau, Efren (Thelma) Nicolas of Hilo, and Ceasar (Myla) Nicolas of Pahoa; daughters, Gloria (Tony) Salvador, Erlinda (Gerry) Buentipo, Maria (Nelson) Cabay and Marilyn (Bobsy) Gumayagay of Keaau, and Lina (Noel) Deguillmo of Honolulu; 23 grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Earl Takeshi Nakashima, age 70, of Hilo, Hawaii died Thursday at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honokaa, he was the retired proprietor of E. Nakashima Greenhouses. He was also a former Realtor employed by Pacific Coast Properties in Honokaa, member of the Hamakua Lions Club and Hamakua Jodo Mission. Visitation Saturday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo from 9:30-10:30 a.m.; memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire. No flowers. Survived by wife, Betty Nakashima of Hilo; son, Mark Nakashima of Honokaa; daughter, Sandra (Greg) Jakob of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Kent Nakashima of Kailua-Kona, George (Charlene) Nakashima of Volcano, and James (Judith) Nakashima of Washington state; hanai brother, Mineo (Nancy) Honda of Waimea; hanai sister, Aiko Nakamura of Hilo; three grandchildren; an uncle, two aunts, and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
