An unidentified man was found dead Monday night after his vehicle overturned and caught fire in North Kona.
Police said the man was driving a pickup truck that ran off Highway 190 near Puuanahulu and overturned shortly before 11 p.m. Fire fighters found the truck badly damaged and burning within a 3/4-acre brush fire.
After the fire was extinguished, the sole occupant and operator of the vehicle was found dead inside the truck, police said.
Police believe speed and alcohol were factors.
