• Coach-pitch registrations will be at 4 p.m. Aug. 11;
• T-ball will be at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 12.

softball coach
Hilo High is accepting applications for softball coach.
Applications can be picked up at the school’s main office, and the deadline to apply is Aug 28.

Kohala hoops, volleyball free
There will be Biddy Basketball (ages 5-8) registration held at Hisaoka Gym in Kohala on Aug. 10 and Aug. 12 from 4-5 p.m. Registration is free and includes uniform.
Practices will be held in the second half of August and games will be in September-October.

Mauna Loa
time trial
The Hawaii Cycling Club’s 17-mile Mauna Loa Training Time Trial and Saturday Ride are scheduled for Aug. 15 at 8 a.m. on the Mauna Loa Observatory Road.
Participants can choose between the training time trial and the non-timed Saturday Club ride, which will start immediately after the timed event and allows casual bicyclists to take their time.
HCC’s talk-story food and beverage station will be at the finish line. Registration will be from 7:30 -7:45 a.m. at Kipuka Pu’u Huluhulu (Native Tree Sanctuary parking lot off of Saddle Rd.)
Either an annual membership ($20) or a one-day membership ($10) is required to participate.
