Hurricane Ignacio was expected to slow Thursday night but the forecast continues to place it approaching the Big Island on Monday.
As of 5 p.m. Thursday, the category 1 hurricane had maximum sustained winds of 90 mph and was 975 miles east-southeast of Hilo.
The five-day forecast places Ignacio passing near the Big Island to the northeast.
Ignacio was not able to strengthen any further Thursday and the National Weather Service was no longer predicting that it will become a major hurricane.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Jimena to the east of Ignacio could strengthen to a hurricane today.
