No. 8 Hawaii will be making its 22nd consecutive NCAA Division I Volleyball Championship in College Station, Texas, where a trio of Lone Star State teams await.
The Rainbow Wahine (26-1) play TCU (19-0) in the first round on Friday. In the other first-round match, it’s No. 10 Texas A&M (23-6) vs. Texas A&M Corpus-Christi (31-4).
The winners will battle in the second round on Saturday.
UH is 6-0 all-time against TCU, at at-large team from the Big 12. The Rainbow Wahine earned the Big West Conference’s automatic berth wth a 16-0 record for its eighth title.
Teams winning both matches will move on to regional play Dec. 11 and 12. The pre-determined regional sites are Austin, Texas, Des Moines, Iowa, Lexington, Ky., and San Diego, Calif. All regional semifinal matches will be shown on ESPN3. Regional final matches will air on ESPNU.
The regional winners will advance to the semifinals and final hosted by Nebraska on Dec. 17 and 19.
