During this season of giving, the Big Island Substance Abuse Council reached out to clients in its Pregnant Parent with Children’s program, providing gifts to help make the holidays extra special.
The Pregnant Parent with Children’s program provides treatment services focused on women and their children and offers a safe and nurturing foundation for children to grow. The program provides an opportunity for mothers to reclaim their lives from the ravages of addiction.
Every year during the holiday season, BISAC celebrates these women and their children with presents for the keiki.
“This is the first time that I am able to give my child a gift,” said a current BISAC client. “This means a lot to me and my family.”
“We look forward to this time of year because it makes a difference in their lives and to see the joy that it brings to these mothers is definitely priceless,” said Dr. Hannah Preston-Pita, BISAC’s CEO.
Since 1964, BISAC has been inspiring individuals and families to reclaim and enrich their lives in the wake of the ravages of substance abuse.
The substance abuse council offers a continuum of services that are culturally appropriate and aligned with the ever-changing behavioral health field.
