Torao Matsumoto, 95, of Hilo died Feb. 2 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, he was a retired commercial fisherman and World War II U.S. Army veteran who served in the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, Co. F and 232nd Engineer Combat Co. Services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by wife, Matsue Matsumoto of Hilo; daughters, Edna Yee of Waimea, Donna Matsumoto of Hilo and Jessica (Dennis) Hashimoto of Honolulu; brother, Sueo Matsumoto of Puna; sister, Kazue Matsumoto of Hilo; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
