The nonprofit Ku‘ikahi Mediation Center will present “Listening with Empathy” with Mala‘e Erickson from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. March 19 at the Keaau Community Center, 16-192 Pili Mua St.
“To really hear another human being, without judgment or wanting to change them, is a precious gift,” Erickson said. “You can learn to give this gift of empathy.”
This community workshop provides a day of skills-building for anyone who desires more peaceful and productive communication and stronger personal and professional relationships. Participants will learn to listen deeply to others, cultivate understanding and compassion, and work better with people of diverse backgrounds and interests.
Tuition for “Listening with Empathy” is $60. Group discounts and partial scholarships are available. To register, contact Ku‘ikahi Mediation Center’s administrative and program assistant Jenifer Aveiro at 935-7844, ext. 1, or jenifer@hawaiimediation.org.
