Various members of committees and their staffs dress up in different outfits during conference committee week. Friday was a big day at the statehouse, too. Lawmakers negotiated final details on dozens of measures ahead of a major legislative deadline, rushing around the Capitol and huddling in groups while trying to reach last-minute agreements. Anything that didn’t pass out of committee by the end of the day Friday died, unless lawmakers bend the rules to revive them.
