Hilo Toastmasters members have honored Shawndra Holmberg, the club’s vice president of education, as its outstanding member of the year.
“She is a continuous motivator and is responsible for keeping members focused on individual and club goals,” said club treasurer Sharon Justice. “She is the glue that holds us all together.”
Holmberg’s creativity and fresh ideas have helped in building a successful, growing Hilo club. She has also been described as reliable, and enthusiastic in her club responsibilities, even when she was starting a new job. She has earned a Competent Communicator Award and will soon receive a Competent Leadership Award.
The Hilo Toastmasters Club No. 248 recognizes her exceptional dedication and service by choosing her the 2012 Outstanding Member of the Year, said Justice.
Since 1924, Toastmasters International has been recognized as the leading organization dedicated to communication and leadership skill development.
