U.S. Army Garrison Pohakuloa will open the Keamuku Maneuver Area to bow hunting of goats and pigs on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Hunting of Mouflan and sheep is not allowed.
Check in time is 5 a.m. each day; check out not later than 7:30 p.m. Hunters must check in and out at the Kilohana Hunter’s Check-in Station between Mile Marker 43 and 44 on Saddle Road.
Hunting passes will be available at Kilohana on Friday after 5 p.m. Please place the pass on your vehicle dashboard when hunting. Hunting passes are only valid for Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
Enter and exit the Keamuku through Gates 2 (MM 44), 7 (MM 51) and 10 (MM 52) on Saddle Road or Gates 11 (MM 7) and 14 (MM12) on the Mamalahoa Highway. Park in designated areas inside of all gates; do not park along the highway or road while hunting.
PTA is extremely dry and fires can start easily. No smoking or open flames are allowed in all training and hunting areas. Please report all fires to the PTA Federal Fire Department at 969-2447 or 969-2448.
No firearms, alcoholic beverages, all-terrain vehicles, dirt bikes or recreational vehicles are allowed in the training and hunting areas. Please close all gates when entering or leaving hunting areas.
