On Nov. 17, Christian Liberty Academy competed in a statewide debate tournament at the University of Hawaii at Manoa Lab School in Honolulu.
Sophomore Sean Ichinose, who represented CLA for the first time, was undefeated, winning six out of six judges’ decisions in Novice Lincoln-Douglas Debate.
The other debaters with undefeated records in this category represented Parker School and Punahou. Christian Liberty Academy and Parker School are currently the only Big Island schools participating in Hawaii Speech League debate.
CLA will next compete at the Neighbor Island Tournament at Parker School on Jan. 18-19.
