Did this woman depicted therein (Tribune-Herald, A1, Oct. 3) bare her chest voluntarily, or did Donald Trump ask her to do so? From the look on her face and the position of her hand on her blouse, I would say it was entirely voluntary!
At any rate, what was your purpose in printing it, and how is it related to the accompanying article, “Gender Wars”?
In my opinion, the photo is trash, to say the least, and if it was newsworthy, it should only have appeared in a cheap tabloid.
Freedom of the press is one thing. Discretion is quite another!

A win-win scenario
A recent article highlights the lower enrollment in our university and community college system.
In the automotive trade, all the auto shops mostly look for people who have experience, certifications and college degrees. What if someone does not have any of those requirements but wants to learn and work at the same time?
There are people who want to work in the auto industry, but it is difficult to get in the field without experience, education or trade certification. So, the auto employers might take them in as apprentices, and apprentices don’t get paid.
My solution is to give willing people, who have an interest to learn, a paid opportunity to work in the field with some financial compensation. As a Hawaii Community College automotive mechanics student from Kona, I am trying to get education toward my certification but still need work experience.
Automotive trade employers should invest in people willing to work and learn at the same time. In exchange, workers would commit and be loyal to their employers. It would lessen the financial burden of attending college and being away from my family and would create an opportunity to enter the field in my community.
