A flash flood watch for the Big Island has been cancelled.
The National Weather Service says the “moist and unstable airmass that has been over the Big Island … is gradually drying and stabilizing this afternoon.”
Brief heavy showers remain possible over the west side of the Big Island for the rest of the afternoon. The Hilo Bayfront Highway is now open to all traffic, along with the portion of Kamehameha Avenue from Pauahi Street to Manono Street.
Kamehameha Avenue remains closed from Ponahawai Street to the Pauahi Street intersection due to flooding.
Motorists are advised to drive with caution and expect delays.
