Perhaps one of the fastest-moving intersections for vehicles are the ones with four-way stop signs. Common courtesy dictates that the first car at the stop line would cross first followed by the next car, and so on.
For some drivers, common courtesy goes out the window when some motorists speed up to these intersections trying to be the first to cross, or “piggybacking” another car going though the intersection with that motorist not having to stop for another driver’s turn.
Such is the case at the intersections of Komohana and West Kawailani streets. As traffic increases in this area, so does road rage, honking of cars horns, near collisions and the lack of a “shaka” or a nod of thanks for letting a vehicle go before of you.
Perhaps it is time to install traffic lights at this intersection to minimize these incidents.

Shifting narrative
The issue of “alternative facts” keeps rearing up without letup. Here is a classic example of the Trump administration’s alternative facts strategy: The raid in Yemen produced the following results: one service member dead, one multimillion-dollar aircraft lost, several Yemeni noncombatants killed, failure to achieve the objective of the raid. However, the administration claims unequivocally that the raid was a success.
As such, the narrative shifts. Deny responsibility: It was Barack Obama who planned the operation before he left office. Ignore the facts: It was a success regardless of the losses because we obtained valuable intelligence. Shift the narrative: Anyone who says otherwise disparages the death of the service member and also disparages the entire U.S. armed services.
Sun Tsu states: “When hypocrisy sprouts, you could not defeat a peasant, let alone a crowd of them.”
