The newly formed nonprofit Laulima Pahoa is hosting a meet and greet during the Second Saturday Art &Music Walk starting at 3 p.m. Saturday “on the grass” across from the NAPA parking lot in Pahoa.
There will be music by the Geckos with a special appearance by Stephanie Klieman.
Laulima Pahoa will share its goals and collect names of volunteers who want to join it in improving the art, music, theater and “other things human” in Pahoa. Laulima Pahoa members Sara Steiner, Patty Kroh and Chris Gagne will be on hand at the group’s booth to answer questions.
“We are looking for grant-writers, grunt laborers for events, computer geeks for IT and social media sharing and writers/photogs for our anticipated on-demand newsletter,” Steiner said. “We also are collecting names of musicians, artists, plant people and others who wish to be involved to improve our Pahoa Village.”
