Masae K. “Peggy” Horiuchi, 91, of Keaau died Sept. 12 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Keaau, she was a retired clerk at the Keaau Post Office and member of Keaau Village Association, Puna Hongwanji Buddhist Temple and Hui Okinawa. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by son, Sam Horiuchi of Keaau; sisters, Betty Matsumoto of Honolulu, Natsuko Uehara of Mountain View and Jane (Edward) Imamura of Aiea, Oahu; sister-in-law, Lillian Kiyabu of Aiea; nephews and nieces. Yukiko O. Nakayama, 94, of Hilo, formerly of Kauai, died Aug. 21 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Yokohama, Japan, she was a professional seamstress and homemaker.
