An 18-year-old Hilo man accused of making online threats against security personnel at the Kamehameha Schools-Hawaii campus is in further trouble.
According to a police log, Jeremy James Costa was arrested late Tuesday night at the family home on Hoaloha Street and charged with domestic abuse. It is not known what Costa is alleged to have done or who is the alleged victim.
Domestic abuse is a misdemeanor that carries a mandatory two-day jail sentence for a first conviction.
Costa’s bail was set at $1,000. An official at Hawaii Community Correctional Center said Wednesday night that he was not in custody there.
Costa appeared Wednesday before Hilo Family Judge Lloyd Van De Car. According to court records, his arraignment and plea has been continued until March 8 at 1:30 p.m. before Family Judge Anthony Bartholomew.
He’s also scheduled to appear before Hilo District Judge Barbara Takase on Tuesday for a return of his court-ordered mental evaluation in the Kamehameha Schools case.
