Claudine Duke, 85, of Hawaiian Beaches died Jan. 1 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired truck driver, a U.S. Army veteran from World War II, and a member of the VFW Post 3830 and PRUMA (Puerto Rican Union of Mutual Aid) Association. Martin Esteban Jr., 77, of Hilo died Jan. 3 at home. Born in Wailuku, Maui, he was a retired meat department supervisor for KTA Super Stores, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Halai Kumiai and the Hawaii County Senior Citizen Softball League, and a 2000 inductee into the Hilo Sportsman Hall of Fame.
