Registration forms are now available. On Memory Walk day, activities and entertainment will get under way at 3 p.m., along with registration for the main event. At 4 p.m., everyone is invited to join in A Walk to Remember. After the walk, enjoy live music and dinner in the park. Then, at 7 p.m., volunteers will coordinate the Lights of Remembrance Luminary Launch. Walk in memory of a loved one and raise funds for the Hospice of Hilo. “All donations are greatly appreciated, but walkers who raise $100 earn an 8th Annual Celebration of Life T-shirt,” said a spokesman. “Early registration is April 16, to guarantee T-shirt sizes.”
Registration forms are accepted at the event.
For Lights of Remembrance at sunset, design a luminary in memory or in honor of a loved one and enjoy the launch of lanterns on the Wailoa River. Luminaries are available for $20 in advance or $25 at the event.
