KEALAKEHE — Kealakehe softball had rolled over teams in the Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) all season, but on Tuesday afternoon at the Waveriders’ home field, it had a problem.

KAILUA-KONA — Heading into the Central Pacific Bank/Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) Track and Field championships over the weekend, Waiakea pole vaulters Shelbey Cabais-Fernandez and Analissa Paresa approached their competition just like any other meet.

As the school year starts to wind down, spring sports are doing the same.

Waiakea High’s boys and girls tennis squads took home the Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) team titles Saturday morning at the Warriors’ home court — officially capping off an island season of dominance.

Kealakehe High School hosted the eighth meet of the Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) track and field season Saturday in Kailua-Kona, inviting all schools from across the island to partake in the “Freshman/Sophomore Meet.” It was also the second meet this season in which the Waveriders have hosted with their new aqua blue track.

HUALALAI — The first round of the Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) Individual Golf Championships took place on Saturday morning at Hualalai — with only the top-nine girls and top-18 boys qualifying for today’s final round at 9:30 a.m. at Hokuli‘a.

WAIMEA — The Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) hosted its sixth meet of the track and field season on Saturday at Hawaii Preparatory Academy.

KEALAKEHE — In a nailbiting match of back-and-forth affairs, Kealakehe boys volleyball was able to prevail over Kea‘au on Saturday in four sets at home — beating the Cougars for the second time this season.

WAIMEA — The Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) hosted its fourth track and field meet of the season Saturday on the northwest side of the island at Hawaii Preparatory Academy.
