Local kickboxing: Two-day Toughman season finale this weekend

HILO — Two nights of non-stop kickboxing action begins Friday with the Next Generation Toughman Hawaii Season Finale at Hilo Civic Auditorium. Doors open at 5 p.m. with the show beginning at 6 p.m. and 2 p.m./3 p.m. on Saturday. Fighters from around the globe have made their way to Hilo to compete in what is becoming one of the largest junior international division martial arts competitions in the world.

BIIF sports: Warriors rout Daggers

KEA‘AU — Business was booming for Kamehameha Schools-Hawai‘i football on Thursday night against Pahoa. The Warriors routed the Daggers 59-0 in Kea‘au. It was the second time KSH shut out Pahoa.

Ironman pro field revealed

KAILUA-KONA — An elite field of the world’s best professional male triathletes, including four former Ironman World Champions, will assemble in Kona town for the men’s edition of the 2024 VinFast Ironman World Championship triathlon. On Saturday, October 26, both the professional and age-group men will contest for their respective Ironman World Championship titles on the much-revered Kona course.

BIIF volleyball: Warriors, Ka Makani and Bulls sweep

HILO — Waiakea girls volleyball opened its two-match homestand with its second consecutive straight-sets victory on Thursday in Hilo. The Warriors beat the visiting Kea‘au Cougars by scores of 25-10, 25-14 and 25-11. It was the seventh straight-sets win of the season for Waiakea.
