Born in Cabugao, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she retired operating her Certified Nurse Aide Care Home and baked Filipino pastries commercially with her late husband, Felix Cruz, and was the last-living Filipino Sakada in Pahala, sailed on the SS Marine Falcon from Port Salomague, Philippines, to Hawaii in 1946 and was awarded and recognized by the Hawaii State Legislature and the Hawaii County Council on Dec. 20, 2015.
